Kris Garstang is a Registered Clinical Psychologist with 18 years experience in the field of adult mental health. She has worked in both the public and private sectors. Kris set up Life Mind Psychology with business partner, Mary Ann Stevens 13 years ago.
Kris is registered with the New Zealand Psychologist's Board and is a fellow of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists.
Kris takes a practical approach to emotional problems and loves helping people find the tools they need to manage their emotions and behaviours. Her approach is primarily a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach but she uses tools from other therapies if these are appropriate for a particular problem.

Helen Inkster studied at Canterbury University,
qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist in 1995. She is registered with the NZ
Psychologists Board and is a Fellow of the New
Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists. Helen has worked
in many fields both private, contracting and in the
public sector with adults and adolescents.
Helen has maintained a private practise in Nelson for 20 years. She has a specific interested in working with trauma,
anxiety and stress. She is keen to work with professionals to maintain their
own wellness, in particular, the prevention of burnout.
Helen has a practical, down to earth style, and works well with people from all
walks of life. She uses a Cognitive Behavioural techniques, incorporating
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She is also EMDR trained (Eye Movement
Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and has used this technique successfully for
15 years.
